9 Reasons to smile to be more happy

Would you like to know 9 reasons to smile? I have the habit of smiling when I don’t know what to feel. It is difficult for us to smile in general, but there are many reasons why it is good for us.

It takes 62 muscles to get angry and 26 to smile (we have 43 facial muscles), so you make much more effort for the first than for the second. Smiling is innate in the human being and we lose it over the years (children smile many more times than adults). Still sometimes it is difficult to find a reasons to smile.

There are many types of smiles but we divide them into two types: true and false. They differ in that with the real one the cheeks are raised, the teeth are shown and wrinkles are formed on the sides of the eyes (don’t worry about crow’s feet, they look good on you).

The most beautiful curve of a woman, is her smile. Bob Marley

Here are some of the reasons why I think we should smile:

It’s free. I know that it sounds very obvious, it is that it is free and it seems that some people are charged money for smiling, so it does not hurt to remember that it does not cost us anything.

Be happier. Smiling has a very positive effect on yourself. When something makes you happy, the brain tells the muscles of the face to smile. But in a way it also works the opposite, when you smile, the brain understands that you are happy and your emotional state will become more positive (you will feel better automatically).

Never stop smiling, not even when you’re sad, because you never know who can fall in love with your smile. Gabriel García Márquez

It provokes positive emotions. When we smile we send a powerful message to the people who see us. We transmit to be a happy, close, social and which can be trusted person. Have you ever smiled at someone you didn’t know and they smiled back at you? When you smile you make others do it too and make them feel better.

Build trust. A smile is a sign that you are someone who can be trusted (a true smile). If you want to keep your distance, never smile (this is already a personal option).

It makes you more attractive. We are probably all aware of this. A smile looks much better on your face. Other people will find you more attractive. Who has not smiled to flirt around with someone?

It confuses. People are surprised when they misbehave you or are angry and you smile back. It is definitely the best way to confuse them.

They told me that to make her fall in love I had to make her smile. The problem is that every time she smiles, I fall in love. Bob Marley

Improve health. When you smile, endorphins, serotonin and other natural pain relievers that your body produces are released (it’s like taking a natural happiness drug). It also reduces the levels of hormones that cause stress (adrenaline, cortisol and dopamine) and the decrease in blood pressure.

Live longer. There are studies that show that there is a relationship between smiling and living longer. I don’t know if this is real, but why not give it a try? Surely it has a lot to do with having a positive attitude in life and therefore enjoying life more.

Saves you from embarrassing moments. In these embarrassing situations, it makes others empathize with you (if you ever fall on the street, you know what you have to do).

And this is gossip… there is a study that shows that people who inject Botox into their crow’s feet lose the ability to smile naturally and are more likely to get depressed (no offense to anyone who loves botox).

With or without reason…. smile. I hope you enjoyed these 9 reasons to smile to be more happy. I’m sure you can think of more reasons to smile, would you share them in the comments?
